When I was in high school in Decatur, IL, I wanted a car that my parents would not buy me. Mom wanted to, but dad wouldn’t believe that I could take on a monthly car payment.
So when I moved across the country for college, at age 18, the first thing I did was open a credit card account (thank you @DiscoverCard) and purchase a used @FordBronco. I was confident that I could pay it off ✅
I had internalized a belief that…
Where there is faith, miracles happen💫
I went to college in Portland, OR where roads were wet from constant rain☔️, and the hills were steep⛰️
I didn’t realize that I needed an automatic …and power steering. Needless to say, I got into a small fender bender, and decided that this wasn’t my dream car after all.🤷🏻♀️
I listed the Bronco on Craigslist, and sold it for the exact amount of cash I needed to pay off my credit card.
This helped my credit score at a young age🌟And it gave me confidence in finding the lessons that come from bad experiences,☯️
Let’s flash forward 23 years… I buy a brand new Ford Bronco (pictured here) in 2024. She has heated seats and I can schedule when I want to start the engine 👍❄️
I walked into a Ford dealership and fell in love all over again♥️ And, because of my credit score, I took her home without a down payment🥂
And before my first payment was due… a check arrived in the mail for the exact same amount, from a source I had not anticipated.
My parents did not buy me a car when I was 18, but they did share the gift of faith.🎁
And where there is faith, miracles happen🌟
That’s been my experience.♥️
Big love,
